Reflections on “Incentive Auctions” for the Reallocation of Radio Spectrum
“The Americas Spectrum Management Conference 2011” took place in Washington DC on 19th & 20th October. The meeting was attended by economists, lawyers and engineers interested in the efficient management of that scarce resource called “radio spectrum”. I was invited to participate in one of the “hottest” roundtables of this conference: the one that discussed the feasibility of implementing incentive auctions to reallocate radio spectrum from low to high social value uses. The discussion was particularly interesting (and controversial!). The content of my presentation in the panel can be consulted here.
